At about 2:16am, on Tuesday, April 19, 2011, officers from Area D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for two black males stealing bikes in the area of Massachusetts Ave and Boylston Street. According to witnesses, the suspects stole two bikes and took off in the direction of Fenway Street. Officers were able to locate and stop one suspect in the area of 11 Fenway Street and the other in the area of 301 Massachusetts Ave. 
With both suspects being detained, witnesses were brought to the scene for identification purposes. Upon seeing both suspects, the witnesses stated, “That’s them.”

Witnesses informed officers that the suspects were seen smashing the bike locks with what appeared to be a large heavy object wrapped in a black bag. Officers later recovered a bag with a big rock inside it. Both bicycles were recovered from the suspects. 

Offices arrested Carl Effee, 54, of Boston and Carl Lemon, 52, of Boston and charged both with Larceny of a Bicycle.
