At about 7:08pm, Friday, March 25, 2011, an officer performing a paid detail at the Boston Garden, for a game between the Boston Celtics and the Charlotte Bobcats, responded to a call for a person stealing merchandise from the Bruins’ Pro Shop. On arrival, the detail officer spoke to pro shop employees who stated that the suspect entered the store, took several Celtics’ hats and stuffed them into his jacket. Store employees observed the suspect stuffing hats into his jacket and detained the suspect until the detail officer arrived.
Officers arrested James Saia, 48, of Revere and charged him with Larceny (Under $250.00).
