At about 6:00am, on Sunday, March 6, 2011, officers from Area A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for a man with a knife in the area of 56 Old Ironsides Way. On arrival, officers located the suspect damaging and breaking off pieces of a fence in the area of the above mentioned address. According to witness, the suspect was in possession of a kitchen knife, however, officers were unable to locate a knife. Witnesses further stated that the suspect, who appeared to be heavily intoxicated, began damaging the fence after he was asked to leave a late night house party. According to witnesses, once the suspect was outside the residence, he began threatening to harm people who were still attending the party.
Officers arrested Ryan Buckles, 26, of Somerville and charged him with the Willful & Malicious Destruction of Property and Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.
