Detectives Release Description of Suspect Vehicle and Seeking Public Assistance
Last night, November 14, 2010 around 11:43pm, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to the intersection of Tremont and Terrace Streets for a pedestrian struck.
On arrival, officers located an unresponsive 24-year-old male victim who was being treated by EMS. The victim was transported to Brigham and Women’s Hospital suffering life threatening injuries where he was subsequently pronounced deceased.
The preliminary investigation indicates that the victim was struck while on a scooter on Tremont Street near the corner of Columbus Ave outside of the Roxbury Crossing T station. The suspect vehicle was driving at a high rate of speed when he struck the victim and continued on Tremont towards Brigham Circle.
At this time, detectives believe that the suspect vehicle is possibly a Hyundia Santa Fe either a metallic charcoal grey or silver in color. Detectives also believe that this vehicle sustained heavy front-end damage.
Detectives are asking anyone who may have been in the area to please come forward with information. In addition, the suspect vehicle most likely sustained significant damage. Detectives are asking Auto Body shops to be vigilant and contact authorities if they receive a customer seeking repairs to a vehicle with unexplained damage.
Detectives are not releasing the victim’s identification at this time pending family notifications.
