42 Harrison Archways Victim Identified

At about 11:40 pm on Thursday October 7, 2010, Officers responded to the area of 42 Harrison Archways for a person shot. Officers, located in the rear parking lot of District D-4 (South End/Back Bay), heard the sound of gun shots in the area of the Cathedral Housing Authority. The officers responded to the area of 42 Harrison Archways and arrived on scene within seconds.

On arrival, officers located a 35 year old male victim suffering from apparent gunshot wounds. Officers requested Boston EMS to respond to the scene. The responding officer rendered medical aid to the victim until EMS arrived on scene. EMS arrived on scene and transported the victim to Boston Medical Center. The victim was pronounced dead shortly after arriving at the hospital. The victim has been identified as Frederick Mathieson, 35 of Boston.

The Boston Police Homicide Unit continues to actively investigate this case.  The Homicide Unit is asking anyone with information on this incident to call the Homicide Unit at (617) 343-4470.
