MAN WITH REPLICA GUN ARRESTED IN BRIGHTON

At about 7:30pm, on Wednesday, September 29, 2010, officers from Area D-14 (Brighton) responded to a radio call for a man with a gun in the area of 65 Faneuil Street. On arrival, officers located and spoke to the male suspect, a 47 year-old black male, who had been seen with the firearm. At the time of the stop, the suspect did not have the firearm in his possession. According to the suspect, he showed up a friend’s house to collect money and, when he did, the suspect says he pretended to have a firearm. Officers spoke to the victim who stated that the suspect entered her apartment, showed a firearm and demanded money. According to the victim, the suspect was looking for her boyfriend. When told he was not home, the suspect exited the apartment, walked across the hall and entered another apartment. A search of that apartment enabled officers to locate and take possession of a replica firearm. When the firearm was shown to the victim, the victim confirmed that was the gun used by the suspect.     

Officers arrested Joseph Paige, 47, of Boston and charged him with Assault & Battery by Means a Dangerous Weapon.
