At approximately 11:40AM yesterday, members of the Governor’s Auto Task Force were in the area of Quincy St. and Howard St. looking for a car reported stolen in Boston the day before, 9/27/10.
While in the area, officers observed the stolen car backing down a driveway at 26 Cunningham Street, a house currently under construction. Officers responded to the driveway and there placed the operator under arrest charging him with Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle. Once stopped, officers learned from a witness that the suspect had indicated to him that he would return to sell them some tools earlier in the day.
Outside the car, officers recovered a backpack with some burglary tools along with a number of tools which were stolen. The suspect, Gary S. Dyer, 49 of Boston was arrested and charged Receiving stolen Motor Vehicle, Possession of Burglarious Tools, Receiving Stolen Goods.
