TWO COLLEGE KIDS CAUGHT BREAKING AND ENTERING INTO AN APARTMENT ON MISSION HILL
At about 12:39am, on Friday, June 11, 2010, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a breaking and entering at 14 Wigglesworth Street. On arrival, officers spoke to witnesses who stated that two white males, both wearing Celtics shirts, had broken into the above location.
One couple stated that they were in bed when they awoke and observed a white male rummaging through their room. When the couple began yelling at the suspect, the suspect ran out of the bedroom, down the stairs and out of the building. Witnesses, outside the location, described the suspect as a white male, about 5\’10 in height, with brown hair, weighing 160lbs, wearing a Celtic shirt.
Witnesses outside the location say they heard a woman scream and then observed two white males, both wearing Celtics shirts, run from the location.
A search of the area enabled officers to locate and observe a white male, wearing a Celtics shirt, walking near the address. As a result, officers stopped the individual for questioning. Officers promptly noted that the individual appeared to be intoxicated. While officers were talking to the individual, a witness was brought to the scene. Upon seeing the suspect, the witness told police, “That’s one.” When officers asked the suspect if he’d been with anyone else, the suspect stated that he was with a friend named Dan. At this point, the suspect’s phone began ringing. Upon looking at his cell phone, the suspect handed his phone to the officers and stated, “Here he is.”
When the officer took the phone and put it to his ear, he heard suspect #2 say, “I’m on the Stop-n-Shop roof.” Officers proceeded to that location and located and observed suspect #2. Suspect #2 was wearing a green Celtics shirt with Ray Allen’s name and number (#20). Moreover, officers noted that suspect #2 had cuts and scratches on his hands and knees. Officers then transported suspect #2 back to the scene for identification purposes. When witnesses saw suspect #2, witnesses confirmed that he was one of the individuals seen fleeing the house.
Officers arrested Dan Spillane, 19, of Marblehead and Patrick Diamond, 18, of Connecticut and charged both with Unarmed Breaking & Entering.
