Commissioner’s Commendation for D14 Officers: Victor Everett, Gary Adams, Terrence Joyce and Gerald O’Brien.

On April 19th Officer Everett, while on routine patrol on District 14, received a telephone call via his cell phone from the store clerk at the Quality Market, 140 North Beacon Street, Allston.   The caller stated that he had just been robbed at gun point of approximately $800 and he provided a description of the suspect.  The victim further stated that he was following the suspect, who had left the store and was running on Etna Street toward Market Street. 

Officer Everett notified Operations and alerted Officers on D-14 that an armed robbery had just taken place and that the suspect was on foot, possibly heading towards the Faneuil Street Development.

Officer Adams, Joyce, and O’Brien surrounded the Faneuil Street Development, when the suspect crossed Market Street, spotted Officer Adams and ran into the rear of 41 Faneuil.  Officer Adams joined by Officer’s Everett, Joyce and O’Brien having knowledge that this suspect was armed with a handgun did not hesitate to follow the suspect into the rear of this address.  Officers did without incident capture, arrest and retrieve a loaded .32 caliber revolver.

Officer’s Joyce and O’Brien, noting that the suspect did not have the alleged stolen property on his person, retraced the suspect’s route and recovered the stolen property.

Officer’s Everett, Adams, Joyce, and O’Brien are commended for their quick actions in responding to this armed robbery, their apprehension and arrest of this armed felon and for taking another firearm off the streets of Boston.

For their efforts they were each awarded a Commissioner’s Commendation on June 10, 2010.
