Last night, Friday, May 14, 2010 around 6:21PM, officers from District A-1 (Downtown Boston) arrested suspect, Troy Brison, 45, of Dorchester and charged him with two counts of Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, Possession of Class E (prescription medication) and Possession of Class B (crack cocaine).
Officers from the Safe Street Team were on patrol when they responded to the area of Lincoln Street and Surface Road for a man being brandishing a knife and chasing around another man with the knife.
On arrival, officers were approached by two Boston Transportation Department employees who directed officers to the suspect who was on Surface Road. Both witnesses exclaimed, “That guy’s got a knife!” Officers quickly went in the pointed direction and there observed the suspect being followed by the two victims. The suspect, upon seeing officers, attempted to hide behind some bushes and then fled down Edinboro Street.
Officers quickly caught up with the suspect on the Kennedy Greenway. The suspect then turned toward officers wielding a large black knife in an aggressive manner. Officers ordered the suspect to drop the knife but the suspect refused and instead answered officers’ orders by yelling a number of expletives. A standoff ensued between the suspect and officers until the suspect finally discarded the knife and was taken into custody without incident.
The suspect was placed under arrest and transported to the district station for booking. During booking search of the suspect, officers found several pieces of crack rock in his socks along with a pill and a half of a prescription medication.
The two victims were transported to local hospitals with one suffering serious but non-life threatening injuries, and the other suffering minor injuries.
