“Understanding Violence for Girls Program”

The Boston Police Department District B-2 Community Service Office along with the Suffolk County District Attorney’s Office and Suffolk County Sheriff’s Department are hosting an “Understanding Violence for Girls Program” ages 13-18 years old.

This is a six week program where we will discuss topics on: what causes violence, what happens when accused of a crime, how stereotypes affect us, truth versus snitching, why do kids join gangs and how to make responsible choices. 

It is strongly encouraged that any girls’ that are referred to the program participates in all six sessions.  At the completion of the program each girl will be given a certificate of completion and a small incentive for their attendance.

The session will be held at the Grove Hall Library at 41 Geneva Avenue, Dorchester on the following dates and times:

Wednesday, March 10, 2010      4:00 PM- 6:00PM

Thursday, March 18, 2010         6:00PM – 8:00PM

Thursday, March 25, 2010         4:00PM – 6:00PM

Tuesday, March 30, 2010           4:00 PM- 6:00PM

Tuesday, April 6, 2010                 4:00PM – 6:00 PM
Thursday, April 15, 2010             6:00 PM– 8:00 PM
