Around 10:49PM last night, officers from District E-5 (Roslindale and West Roxbury) responded to the area of 61 Bradeen St. in Roslindale for two males stripping a motor vehicle.
Officers immediately responded and on arrival, they observed three males stripping a silver colored vehicle in an empty lot between Bradeen St. and Fawndale Road. As the officers neared the suspects and entered the lot, the suspects ran through the empty lot to a nearby street. The officers pursued the suspects on foot following them through several streets catching one on Granfield Street. Officers continued to pursue the other suspects giving them verbal orders to stop. The suspects, continued to run from officers until they reached the corner of Granfield Ave. and Washington St. where they jumped into a car and drove off. The pursuing officers broadcast a description of the suspect vehicle along with its direction of flight to other responding officers.
A short while later, an assisting officer, stopped the suspect car in front of 3375 Washington Street. The suspects were positively identified by the officers who had observed them stripping the car and had pursued them. The suspects, Nicholas B. Johnson, 19, of Roxbury, Tyler A. of Roslindale, and Cristian A. Colon, 19 of Dorchester were arrested and charged with Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle after the car that they were stripping was confirmed stolen. The suspects were also charged with Possession of Burglarious Tools after they were found to be in possession of screwdrivers, flashlights and gloves, all instruments used as burglarious tools. The suspects were also charged with Failure to Stop for Police Officers and larceny from a Motor Vehicle. At the booking desk, officers recovered a number of bolts and screws in the suspects’ pockets
