POLICE ARREST ONE FOR REFUSING TO GO HOME

At about 2:20am, on Wednesday, January 20, 2010, officers from Area A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for an altercation in the area of 100 Boylston Street. On arrival, officers observed an individual verbally disrespecting and disparaging a public safety officer from Emerson College. As officers approached, officers could hear the individual threatening to the fight the officer from Emerson College. Officers also noted the suspect appeared to be intoxicated given his slurred speech and absence of balance on his feet. When told to go home, the suspect responded, “I don’t have to go nowhere. I’ll leave when I want to leave.” When told a second time, the suspect stepped towards one of the officers and stated, “How about me and you?”

Officers arrested John Collier, 23, of Boston and charged him with Being a Disorderly Person.

When placed in his cell, the suspect, still seeking a physical altercation, stated, \”I\’m gonna be here all weekend if you want me.\”

POLICE ARREST ONE FOR DAMAGING CARS IN THE SOUTH END

At about 3:25am, on Wednesday, January 20, 2010, officers from Area D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for vandalism in progress. According to the caller, two white males were walking down the street kicking car doors in the area of Beacon and Hereford Streets. Specifically, the caller saw the suspects damage and kick the doors on a red Mini Cooper motor vehicle. Upon arrival, officers observed two individuals who matched the description of the suspects. When officers approached, the suspects attempted to take off on foot. When asked about vandalizing cars, both suspects denied doing such. As a result, the suspects were brought back to the location of the red Mini Cooper. Once there, the caller positively identified both suspects.

Officers arrested Jerry Court, 27, of Boston and Brook Sterrit, 26, of Boston and charged both with the Willful and Malicious Destruction of Property (4 counts).
