At approximately 11:14 AM, January 7, 2010, Boston Police Officers on patrol traveling on East 8th Street towards Dorchester Street (District C6, South Boston) observed an individual who was known to officers to be wanted on an outstanding warrant. Upon officers exiting their police vehicle and approaching the suspect, the suspect noticed officers and began to run on foot. The suspect ran into an apartment at 300 East 8th Street and attempted to close the front door on one of the officers. The officer was able to gain entry and confronted the suspect as he was attempting to escape out the rear door. Both officers were able to apprehend Michael Farrell, 23, of Boston and arrest him on an outstanding warrant for Larceny Over $250. Farrell was also found in possession of a knife and will be additionally charged with Unlawfully Carrying a Dangerous Weapon.

Officers were then alerted to another individual in the apartment, possibly hiding in a bedroom. Officers conducted a protective sweep of the apartment and found Joseph Pano, 36, of Boston, who was known to officers with a Wanted Poster for an outstanding warrant (Attempted Armed Robbery) who was possibly armed. Pano was located hiding underneath a bed. He was placed under arrest and found in possession of two clear plastic bags with a white powdery substance believed to be cocaine. Pano will also be charged for Possession of Class B Drugs.
Both individuals will be arraigned in South Boston District Court.
