DAILY INCIDENTS FOR TUESDAY, JUNE 16, 2009

Officers Seize Three Firearms and Arrest Two SuspectsOn Monday, June 15, 2009, at approximately 2:04pm, Officers assigned to Area B-2 (Roxbury), received a broadcast that a Red Dodge Neon (Massachusetts registration: BC7620) was traveling in the area of Dudley Street with a shotgun in the vehicle.
At this time, a B-2 cruiser observed the above-mentioned vehicle pull into traffic on Shawmut Avenue in front of them. They immediately radioed dispatch and informed them of their observation and requested additional units to assist. The officers conducted a motor vehicle stop in the area of 55 Malcolm X Blvd. It should be noted that this immediate area is within close proximity to Madison Park High School and at the time of the stop, numerous students were in the general area due to dismissal. Based on the specific information received, coupled with the numerous school aged children in the area, it was decided to remove both male occupants from the vehicle for the safety of the officers as well as the general public.
During the search of the vehicle, Officers located three firearms. They were identified as the following: (1) a Browning 16 gage shotgun (2) a Remington 20 gage shotgun (3) an M-1 2900 riffle.
Officers arrested Julio Estrella, 38, of Boston and Jeremy Horne, 18, of Athol, Massachusetts on the charges of Carrying a Riffle or Shotgun on a Public Way (three counts).
BOSTON POLICE FUGITIVE UNIT APPREHENDS SUSPECT WANTED IN CONNECTION WITH VICTIM’S STABBING
On May 3, 2009 at approximately 3:43am, officers responded to a radio call for a stabbing at 349 Dudley Street in Roxbury. On arrival, officers learned that two individuals, who had been stabbed on the scene, had self-applied to Boston Medical Center. One of the victims, a 20 year-old Hispanic male, entered the hospital suffering from life-threatening stab wounds. That victim succumbed to his injuries and was later pronounced. That victim has been identified as Edwars Cuello, 20, of Boston. The other victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
After an extensive and thorough investigation, the Boston Police Homicide Unit was able to identify a suspect wanted in connection with the stabbing.
At about 6:30pm, on Monday, June 15, 2009, members of the Boston Policed Fugitive Unit, in conjunction with the United States Marshals’ Office and the Lawrence Police Department executed an arrest warrant for Marco Rodriguez, 20, of Lawrence, Massachusetts. Mr. Rodriguez was located, arrested and charged with Assault & Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (broken glass bottle).
