RIGHT UNIFORM … WRONG FIELD At about 12:11am, on Sunday, April 26, 2009, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a person breaking into a residence in the area of 42 Hartwell Street. On arrival, officers spoke to one of the residents who stated she was awoken by the sound of breaking glass. The resident further stated that upon looking out the window, she observed a male in a baseball uniform throwing rocks at the house. The victim further stated that the suspect used to live in the building. When she yelled at him, the suspect fled the area on foot. Officers promptly broadcast the following description: “Be on the look out for a man in a baseball uniform seen throwing rocks in the area of 42 Hartwell Street.” Officers observed damage to the home. Specifically, officers observed several broken windows. Officers proceeded to search the area, but were unable to locate the suspect. In short time, thou, officers received another call saying that the suspect had returned to the location. Once on scene, officers observed and located an individual wearing a baseball uniform.
After the suspect was positively identified by witnesses, officers arrested Manuel Rosario, 51, of Boston and charged him with the Willful & Malicious Destruction of Property and Attempted Breaking & Entering (nighttime).
POLICE ARREST ONE FOR BREAKING INTO CARS IN JAMAICA PLAIN
At about 4:09am, on Monday, April 27, 2009, officers responded to a radio call for a person breaking into a car in the area of Atherton and Copley Streets in Jamaica Plain. On arrival, officers spoke to the owner of the car who stated that she saw the suspect break into her car. The victim stated that the suspect was wearing a red hat, red hood and dark pants. In short time, officers located an individual fitting the description of the suspect. The suspect was then brought back to the scene of crime for identification purposes. Once there, witnesses were able to positively identify the suspect. A search of the suspect enabled officers to locate and take possession of items reported stolen from the victim’s motor vehicle.
Officers arrested Archie Barco, 24, of Boston and charged him with Breaking & Entering a Motor Vehicle.
