DAILY INCIDENTS FOR THURSDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2008

FREE SLICE LEADS TO TROUBLE FOR ONE LOCAL PIZZA SHOPAt about 4:42pm, on Wednesday, October 22, 2008, officers from Area A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for a fight in the area of 34 Essex Street (Caesar’s Pizza). On arrival, officers spoke to store employees who stated that an individual entered the store and they offered the individual a free slice of pizza. However, after eating the slice, the individual fell asleep at the counter. As a result, store employees approached the suspect in an effort to wake him up. Upon waking, the suspect became belligerent and angry. When asked to leave the store, the suspect began throwing trash all over the store and, then, kicked the front door creating a crack in it.
Officers arrested Jerry Correa, 43, of Dorchester and charged him with Willful & Malicious Destruction of Property.
NO KEYS .. NO EXCUSE FOR DESTROYING PROPERTY
At about 2:57am, on Thursday, October 23, 2008, officers from Area C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call for breaking and entering in progress at 1220 Adams Street in Dorchester. On arrival, officers observed a broken window. Officers further observed a large cinder block that appeared to have been used to break the window. According to the caller, two white males were seen fleeing the area. Officers soon located a white male matching the description of one of the suspects. Upon questioning the suspect (Suspect #1), the suspect stated that he and his friend (Suspect #2) were out drinking. According to Suspect #1, when they returned home, Suspect #2 couldn’t find his keys thus preventing both suspects from gaining entry into the apartment building. Unable to gain entry, Suspect #1 says Suspect #2 grabbed a cinder block and threw it through the front door window. A search of the apartment building enabled officers to locate Suspect #2 hiding under a table.
Officers arrested Jonathan Wright, 29, of Dorchester and charged him with the Willful & Malicious Destruction of Property.
POLICE INVESTIGATE HIT AND RUN INCIDENT AT 1434 CENTRE STREET
At about 8:21pm, on Wednesday, October 22, 2008, officers from Area E-5 (West Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a pedestrian struck in the area of 1434 Centre Street. On arrival, officers observed an unconscious male lying in the parking lot of the Christy’s market. The victim was immediately transported to the Brigham & Women’s Hospital where he’s being treated for life threatening injuries. According to witnesses, the victim was struck as he was crossing Centre Street. After striking the victim, the motor vehicle (a green caravan) in this incident fled the scene.
Approximately thirty minutes later, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) responded to the Beth Israel Hospital to investigate a suspicious person or persons. On arrival, officers spoke to Beth Israel security officials who stated that they had two persons on scene who had told them they had just been involved in a motor vehicle accident. According to security officials, the individuals were driving a green caravan. Officers spoke to the operator of the car who stated that someone had thrown a rock at his car. Officers observed damage to the vehicle’s front windshield. A check of the operator’s license through the Registry of Motor Vehicles showed the suspect’s license to operate to be suspended. Officers arrested Corey Legere, 23, of Weymouth and charged him with Operating Without Being Licensed.
Area E-5 Detectives will further investigate the incident in order to determine the above suspect’s level of involvement in the accident at 1434 Centre Street.
