Wild Party Results in Numerous ArrestsOn Sunday morning around 1:54AM, officers from District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) arrested several suspects in response to a radio call for loud music. Officers arrested suspect, Maria C. Santiago-Cosme, 21 of Fall River, charged with two counts of Assault and Battery on a Police Officer, Carlos A. Cosme, 18 of Jamaica Plain, charged with two counts of Assault and Battery on a Police Officer, two counts of Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon-shod foot, and Disturbing the Peace, Jose D. Sanchez, 17, of Jamaica Plain charged with Resisting Arrest, and Possession of Class D. The owner of the house was charged with Being Keeper of a Disorderly House and will be summonsed to court.
Officers initially responded to 944 Parker St. in Jamaica Plain in response to a radio call for loud music. On arrival, officers could clearly detect lid music coming from a couple floors up from the ground level. Officers responded to the apartment with the noise and attempted to find and speak to the person in charge. On entering the apartment, officers were met by hostile partygoers who berated officers and were combative. While continuing to quell the disturbance and find the person in charge, officers were assaulted and struck by several people who were in the party, with some individual jumping on the backs of officers and striking them about the head and body. As officers continued to restore peace, they were bitten and kicked by partygoers resulting in the above individuals being placed under arrest.
Many of these individuals continued to struggle even while officers were placing them under arrest and several suspects escaped while their fellow partygoers were being placed under arrest.
Traffic stop Lands Two in Jail for Stolen Car
Around 5:02PM on Sunday, October 19, 2008, an officer from District B-2 (Roxbury) performing traffic enforcement in the area of Judson and Brookford Streets observed a car fail to obey the traffic laws.
The officer followed the car and conducted a traffic stop in front of 11 Beauford Lane. At the traffic stop, the officer asked the operator for his license and registration. The driver responded to the officer’s request and stated, “I don’t have a driver’s license and I don’t know where the registration is!” A registration check of the car was conducted and the officer learned that the car had been reported stolen on 10/18/08 in Jamaica Plain.
The operator, Roberto Castro, Jr. 20, and his passenger, Ashley Garcia, 17, both of Roxbury were both arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Motor Vehicle. In addition, the operator was charged with an outstanding warrant for Trespass and a citation for Operating Without Being Licensed, and several civil motor vehicle infractions.
BB Gun Assaults Lands 15 Year-Old in Jail
Yesterday evening around 5:09PM, officers from District E-5 (West Roxbury) responded to 40 Brookway Rd in Roslindale for a person shot.
On arrival, officers located the victim and her mother and they reported that that the victim had been shot with a BB gun in the leg. Both victim and witness told officers that the suspect knocked on the door and when the victim opened the door, he exclaimed, “why you snitched on me?” then shot her. The victim and witness provided officers with a description of the suspect and reported that he was in an apartment down the hallway.
Officers responded to an apartment down the hallway and there observed a group of young men in an apartment after being allowed in the apartment. Officers quickly separated one suspect who matched the description given by the witness and victim and pat frisked him. During a pat frisk of the suspect, officers recovered several BBs in the suspect’s pocket. The suspect was detained, and the victim and suspect brought to his location for a possible identification. The suspect was immediately identified by the suspect and victim and placed under arrest. After being placed under arrest, officers located a shotgun BB gun in the apartment.
While leaving the building, officers located two other victims who had also been shot by the same suspect. The suspect, a 15-year-old male from Roslindale was arrested and charged with three counts of Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.
