SPITTING TOBACCO IS ONE THING; SPITTING ON FANS IS ANOTHERAt about 11:25pm, on Tuesday, October 14, 2008, officers, working a paid detail at Fenway Park for the Red Sox/Rays game, responded to the right field roof deck for a report of two individuals spitting on fans during the game. Once on scene, officers observed two white males lean over a railing and spit on the fans below. Officers approached the suspects and informed them that they were no longer welcome at the park. When told that they were being ejected from the park, the suspects began swearing and yelling at the officers. Officers arrested Shane Corsi, 21, of Rhode Island and Garrett Erksine, 21, of Rhode Island and charged both with Disturbing the Peace.
TIRE SLASHER ARRESTED IN THE NORTH END
At about 2:13am, on Tuesday, October 14, 2008, officers from Area A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for vandalism in progress in the area of Commercial and Hanover Streets. While en route to the call, officers received information telling them that three white males were seen vandalizing motor vehicles in the area. According to witnesses, one of the males pulled out a knife and slashed tires on three different cars. On arrival, officers located the three white males. While the suspects were being detained, officers spoke to witnesses who were able to positively identify the individual responsible for slashing the tires.
After being positively identified, Anton Makayev, 25, of Maine was arrested and charged with the Willful & Malicious Destruction of Property.
UNRULY FAN ARRESTED AT RED SOX GAME
At about 11:10pm, on Tuesday, October 14, 2008, officers, working a paid detail at Fenway Park for the Red Sox/Rays game, were approached by Fenway Security seeking assistance in their efforts eject an individual from the park. According to witnesses, the suspect was swearing in the presence of young fans/children. When told that he was being ejected from the park, the suspect began to swear and verbally abuse both security officials and police officers. Officers arrested Nicolas Emmons, 20, of Cambridge and charged him with Being a Disorderly Person.
