WOULD BE ROBBER TRAPPED LIKE A MOUSE BY LOCKING SECURITY DOORAt about 5:20pm, on Saturday, October 11, 2008, officers (members of the Area A-1 Safe Street Team) responded to a radio call for a robbery in progress at 495 Washington Street, the Gold Power Jewelry Store. On arrival, officers spoke to store employee who stated that he in the process of showing a gold chain to a customer when the suspect, who was also in the store, snatched the chain and attempted to flee the store. However, as soon as the suspect snatched the chain, store employees activated the locking security door. As a result, the suspect was unable to exit the location. When officers arrived, store employees directed them to the suspect. Officers arrested Jamiah Bailey, 19, of Boston and charged him with Larceny (Over $250.00)

About 1:37am on Sunday, October 12, 2008, officers working a paid detail at McFadden’s at 138 State Street were approached by employees of the establishment who stated that they needed assistance in their efforts to remove a patron. According to witnesses, at the end of the Red Sox game, the suspect in question angrily smashed a glass bottle on the floor when the Tampa Bay Rays scored the game-winning run. When the glass smashed, several patrons began complaining. When officers instructed the suspect that he had to leave the establishment, the suspect began to verbally abuse the officers. Eventually, the suspect did acquiesce and comply to the officers’ instructions. However, as officers were escorting the suspect towards the exit, the suspect’s friend (Suspect #2) pushed officers and yelled, “That’s my boy! Let him go!” At this point, both suspects began shoving the arresting officers in an effort to make good their escape. Officers arrested Lesley Bonnet, 26, Malden and Nicholas Wallen, 21, of Boston and charged both with Disorderly Conduct, Resisting Arrest and Assault & Battery on a Police Officer.
LICENSE PLATE STEALING SUSPECT ARRESTED IN ROXBURY
At about 12:04am, on Saturday, October 11, 2008, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a man stealing license plates in the area of 226 Parker Hill Ave. On arrival, officers spoke to security personnel from the New England Baptist Hospital who provided a description of the suspect seen stealing the license plates. Officers soon located an individual matching the description of the suspect. When officers approached the suspect, the suspect became verbally belligerent and abusive towards the officers. After the suspect was positively identified, officers arrested Nicholas Stark, 19, of Boston and charged him with Larceny from a Motor Vehicle (License plates) and the Willful & Malicious Destruction of Property. Officers recovered approximately nine stolen license plates.
