At about 11:43pm, on Monday, October 6, 2008, officers from Area B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a radio call for shots fired in the area of 193 Callender Street. On arrival, officers located two black males suffering from what appeared to be gunshot wounds. Victim #1, Rene Boyea, 23, of Mattapan was pronounced on the scene. Victim #2 was transported to a local hospital and treated for his injuries.The Boston Police Department is actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident.
