Robbery Suspects CaughtYesterday evening around 5:05PM, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) responded to the intersection of Howard Ave. and Hartford St. for a robbery in progress.
On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who reported to officers that he had just been physically assaulted and his backpack and cell phone stolen. The victim reported that he was walking in the area of Howard Ave, and Hartford St. talking on his cell phone when he was approached from behind by two males who pushed him to the ground, beat him up, and stole his cell phone and backpack.
The victim provided officers with a description of the suspects along with the bicycles they were riding, and their direction of flight. Officers canvassed the area in search of the suspects and a short while later observed two individuals matching the suspects’ description on Dudley Street. The two individuals were stopped for a threshold inquiry and the victim transported to their location for a possible identification. The victim was brought to the suspects’ location where he positively identified both individuals as his attackers. The suspects, a 14-year-old and 16-year-old male juvenile from Dorchester were both arrested and charged with Unarmed Robbery. Officers, however, were unable to find the victim’s property.
OUI Suspect Arrested after Causing Accident at Accident Scene
Last night around 7:55PM, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) were in the area of Dorchester Ave. and Melville Ave. when they heard a loud crashing sound.
Officers immediately responded to the scene and there observed an accident between two cars. Of the two vehicles in the accident, one of the vehicles had been directed around a Boston Fire vehicle that had responded to the initial accident when the second vehicle struck the car that had been directed around the BFD vehicle. Officers approached the operator of one of the cars and immediately noticed that the operator’s eyes were glassy and red, and that there was an odor of alcohol coming from her. The operator was instructed to turn off the car and place the car in park, but appeared to be incoherent in her ability to follow those instructions until officers removed the keys from the ignition.
The operator was removed from the car and given a series of Field Sobriety Tests, all of which she failed. In addition, a query of the operator’s license revealed her to be unlicensed. The suspect, Alcione Souza, 39, of Dorchester was arrested and charged with Operating Under the Influence and Operating a Motor Vehicle without Being Licensed.
“Hell Yeah” I Want to Get Arrested!
Around 9:48PM lat night, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to 1602 Dorchester for a motor vehicle accident.
On scene, officers spoke to a victim who reported that he was traveling north on Dorchester Ave. when he came to a stop on at a light on Melville Avenue. The victim then reported that his vehicle was struck from behind while stopped at the light causing his car to hit the car in front of him. Officers then, in order to clear the streets while investigating the accident, asked the operator of the car that initiated the accident to move out of the street, and park her car in front of the officers’ cruiser. The operator of the car that initiated the accident then pulled her car up the street substantially further ahead of the officers’ cruiser. Officers walked up the street to where the operator had moved her car and asked her why she had driven so far up the street and received no response. Officers then asked the operator for her license, and registration. The operator fumbled in her purse but gave nothing to the officers. Officers, a second time, asked the suspect operator for her license at which point the suspect handed officers a take out and stated that it was her license.
Officers then asked the suspect to exit her car and asked her if she had been drinking to which the suspect exclaimed, “Hell yeah!” Officers then attempted to administer Field Sobriety Tests to the suspect, but were unable to do so because the suspect was so unstable on her feet that she could not stand up.
The suspect, Shaynel Y. Griffith, 23, of Dorchester was arrested and charged with Operating Under the Influence, and Possession of Class D for marijuana found on her person after she was placed under arrest.
