DAILY INCIDENTS FOR THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 11, 2008

GOOD SAMIRITANS FOIL RESTAURANT ROBBERYAt about 7:42pm, on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, officers from Area A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for an armed robbery at a restaurant located at 71 Charles Street. On arrival, officers located the suspect being detained by restaurant employees. According to witnesses, the suspect entered the restaurant with a bandana covering his face, walked over to the bar, put his hand under his shirt in such a way as to suggest he was in possession of a gun and stated, “Give me all your money.” The victim then walked over to the cash registrar, grabbed the cash drawer and attempted to exit the restaurant. While the suspect was fleeing the restaurant, an employee of the restaurant yelled, “He has a gun.” At this point, two individuals grabbed the suspect. A physical altercation ensued in which the suspect bit one of the individuals. The individuals were able to detain the suspect until the arrival of police. Once on scene, officers arrested Derek Kaufman, 37, of Stoughton and charged him with Unarmed Robbery.
POLICE ARREST TWO DRAG RACERS IN ROXBURY
At about 7:00pm, on Wednesday, September 10, 2008, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) observed two motor vehicles traveling at a high rate of speed in the area of Magazine and George Streets. Specifically, officers observed two motor vehicles (one red and one green) traveling in such a way as to suggest they were racing. Officers were able to stop both motor vehicles. Upon stopping both cars, officers arrested both operators (1) Marco Diaz, 27, of Roxbury and (2) Dennys Adujar-Soto, 23, of Roxbury and charged both with Driving to Endanger and Speeding.
