HOMICIDE VICTIM IDENTIFIEDAt about 11:15pm, on Friday, September 5, 2008, officers from Area E-13 (Jamaica Plain) responded to a radio call to investigate a person, possibly unconscious, inside an apartment building located at 127 Amory Street in Roxbury. On arrival, officers located a female, in her 50’s, suffering from what appeared to be stab wounds. The victim was promptly transported to the Brigham & Women’s Hospital where she was later pronounced. The victim has been identified as Elvia McField, 56, of Roxbury. The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner has determined that the victim’s cause of death was a gunshot wound.
Officers arrested Charles Cherry, 66, of Roxbury and charged him with Murder.
