DAILY INCIDENTS FOR FRIDAY, AUGUST 22, 2008

15 YEAR-OLD UNDER ARREST FOR FIREARM POSSESSIONAt about 1:16pm, on Thursday, August 21, 2008, officers from the Youth Violence Strike Force received information relative to a person in possession of a firearm. Officers were provided a description of the suspect. While on patrol, officers observed an individual matching the description of the suspect in the area of Almont Street and Blue Hill Ave. As a result, officers approached the suspect. In the process of conducting a pat frisk, officers discovered that the suspect was, in fact, in possession of a firearm. Officers arrested a 15 year-old male from Mattapan and charged him with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm.
STOLEN MOPED LANDS TWO IN POLICE CUSTODY
At approximately 5:25pm, on Thursday, August 21, 2008, officers from Area C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a call for a person shot in the area of 90 Adams Street. While en route to the call, officers were told to be on the look out for two individuals seen leaving the scene on a moped. Officers wanted to question these individuals relative to the shooting. Officers soon located the individuals on the moped and stopped them for questioning. While speaking to the suspects, officers noticed that the ignition on the moped had been altered and wires had been cut. As a result of these observations, officers asked the suspects to provide proof of ownership. When asked to do so, one of the suspects stated, “I got the moped from his cousin.” When asked to locate the cousin, the suspect stated that would not be possible. Officers arrested Dominique Drumgold, 17, of Dorchester and Travis Phillips, 17, of Dorchester and charged both with Receiving Stolen Property (Over $250.00).
KNIFE WIELDING SUSPECT ARRESTED DOWNTOWN
At about 7:25pm, on Thursday, August 21, 2008, officers from Area A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for a person sleeping in a dumpster behind Joe’s American Bar and Grill Restaurant in the area of 100 Atlantic Avenue. Further, officers were told that the suspect was sleeping with a knife lying on his chest. On arrival, officers spoke to employees of the restaurant who directed them to the dumpster. As they approached the dumpster, officers heard a man running towards them and yelling, “He has a knife in his hands.” Upon seeing the suspect, officers drew their department-issued firearms and ordered the suspect to drop the knife. After being told repeatedly to drop the knife, the suspect eventually relented. Officers arrested Adam Muther, 25, of Boston and charged him with Assault & Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon (Knife).
