Shooting Incident at 49 Rockville CircleAt approximately 11:51PM last night, 7/21/08, officers from District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) responded to the area of 49 Rockville Circle for a person shot.
On arrival, officers located a 19-year old victim suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. The victim was rushed via ambulance to the Brigham and Women’s Hospital where he was deemed to be in critical but stable condition.
The above incident is currently being investigated by District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) detectives. Despite Being a Con…Suspect Arrested
At about 11:42 PM on Monday night (7/21/2008) officers from District D-4 (South End) responded to a call for a fight at 65 Berkeley Street. Upon responding to the call, the officers searched the area and observed two suspects walking on Tremont Street. The two suspects who are known to officers. On prior occasions, the suspects were told to leave the area, which is known for its prostitution and drug activity.
The officers placed the suspects under arrest for Common Nightwalker, and they were transferred to District D-4. While at the booking desk, one of the suspects refused to be booked and stated, \”I\’m going to make this hard for you. I\’ll call Internal Affairs. I\’m a con, I know how to do this.\”
Nevertheless, the suspects, Joseph Dyer, 36, of and Antonella C. DeLuca, 32 both of Boston were arrested and charged with Prostitution-Common Nightwalking.
Good Police Work Makes for One Less Firearm on the Streets
Last night around 12:30AM, officers from the Youth Violence Strike Force arrested suspects, Robert R. Kines, 20, of Mattapan and William A. Graham-McQuay, 22, of Roxbury. Suspect Kines was arrested and charged them with Unlawful Carrying of a Loaded Firearm on a Public Way, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D within 1, 000’ of a School Zone, Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D, and several traffic violations. Suspect, Graham-McQuay was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Unlawful Carrying of a Loaded Firearm on a Public Way, and Possession of Class D.
Officers were on patrol in the area of Fayston St. monitoring activity due to recent violence in the area when they observed a motor vehicle drive by and as it did so observed the individuals that were standing on the sidewalk quickly retreat as if to take cover from the car. Officers continued to monitor the car and additionally observed the two-rear seat passengers slouch down as they drove by the unobserved officers’ location.
Officers, after observing the manner in which the individuals on the sidewalk reacted in response to the passing car and the behavior of the rear occupants decided to further monitor this car. While continuing to monitor this car, officers observe the car commit a number of traffic violations and as a result conducted a traffic stop in front of 33 Perrin Street. There, officers approached the car to request the operator’s information, and while approaching observed the driver and front passenger leaning and moving around the car. During the traffic stop, officers noted very nervous behavior on the part of the operator who was attempting to secret and lock something in the glove compartment when officers first approached the car. In addition, officers detected a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the car. As officers continued to investigate the car, suspect Kines continuously tried to reach to his right side.
Based on all the above observations, suspects Kines and Graham-McQuay were removed from the car at which time an amount of marijuana was found on both suspects. During further investigations of the car, officers recovered a loaded firearm from the car, and the suspects were arrested and charged accordingly.

This morning around 5:14AM, officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) were directed to the intersection of Blue Hill Ave. and Talbot Ave. in Dorchester in reference to a person shot.
En route to the call, officers were flagged down by a motor vehicle that they subsequently learned was occupied by the victim. Based on conversations with the victim and witnesses, officers learned that the shooting occurred at the intersection of Torrey and Oakwood Streets.
The victim was transported to Boston Medical Center suffering from a bullet graze to the head where he was treated and released.
