DAILY INCIDENTS FOR FRIDAY, JULY 18, 2008

SHOOTING INCIDENT AT COLUMBIA ROAD & DEVON STREETAt about 8:12pm, on Thursday, July 17, 2008, officers from Area C-11 (Dorchester) and Area B-2 (Roxbury) responded to a radio call for a person shot in the area of Columbia Road and Devon Street. On arrival, officers located a 25 year-old black male suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. According to the victim, he was sitting in the front passenger seat of a motor vehicle traveling along Columbia Road when the bullet struck him. The victim was immediately transported to the Boston Medical Center where he was treated for non-life threatening injuries.
The preliminary investigation has revealed that the victim was not the intended target of this incident. It is believed that two individuals were firing at one another when the van the victim was traveling in was struck. Boston Police are actively investigating the facts and circumstances surrounding this incident and would urge anyone with information to contact the department. INDECENT EXPOSURE
At about 6:54pm, on Thursday, July 17, 2008, officers from Area A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for nude male in the area of 75 Boylston Street neat the Boston Common. On arrival, officers observed a totally nude white male lying on his back inside the Commons. According to witnesses, the suspect had been touching himself inappropriately whenever people approached. Officers arrested David Gerbrandis, 38, of Malden and charged him with Open & Gross Lewdness and Being a Disorderly Person.
WILLFUL & MALICIOUS PEDESTRIAN
At about 6:45pm, on Thursday, July 17, 2008, officers from Area E-18 (Hyde Park) responded to a radio call for a fight in the middle of River Street. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that he was driving along River Street when he observed a person attempting to cross the street. As a result, the victim says he slowed his car to a stop in order to allow the pedestrian to cross. But, when the pedestrian took his time, the victim says he beeped his horn. Upon doing so, the pedestrian stopped in front of the victim’s car and began yelling at the victim. According to the victim, the suspect yelled, “Back your car up and go around me!” When the victim attempted put his car into reverse, the car slowly rolled towards the suspect. When this occurred, the victim says the suspect began pounding on the hood of his car. Officers observed damage to the hood of the victim’s motor vehicle. Officers arrested Kevin Fulton, 21, of Lynn and charged him with the Willful & Malicious Destruction of Property.
PUBLIC DRINKING LEADS TO PRIVATE CELLS
At about 5:55pm, on Thursday, July 17, 2008, officers from Area A-1 (Downtown) were on patrol in the area of the Greenway Community Park, located at the intersection of Edinboro and Kingston Streets, when they observed three individuals fighting. The three individuals were engaged in a three-way shoving match with all three attacking and attempting to assault the other. Officers quickly separated the combatants in order to determine the cause of the altercation. In short time, officers observed that all of the suspects appeared to be under the influence of alcohol. While speaking to the suspects, officers learned that all three had pooled their money together in order to purchase a bottle of vodka. However, after the bottle was purchased, one of the suspects attempted to take and keep the bottle for himself. When this occurred, the fight began.
Officers arrested Marina G. Valentini, 45, of Hyde Park, Toni Garcia, 33, of Boston and Juan Lopez , 32, of Boston and charged all three with Drinking in Public and Disturbing the Peace.
