Shoplifters Arrested Throwing “Goods” Yesterday, Sunday, November 25, 2007 around 9:47am, officers from District E-18 responded to Store 24 located at 1187 Hyde Park Ave. for a report of shoplifting. On arrival officers were informed that the suspect, a white female, had stolen a number of grocery items and fled in a black Jeep. A description of the suspect along with the car was broadcast over the police radio. A short while later the car was located and a traffic stop conducted. As officers approached the car they observed the occupants throwing objects toward the back of the car. When questioned about the shoplifting incident, the suspect admitted to “stealing a couple of candy bars.” Both occupants were removed from the car based on their actions and subsequent search of the car revealed what officers believed to be heroin.
Suspect shoplifter, Cheryl Murphy, 38, of Hyde Park was arrested and charged with Shoplifting, Possession of Class A, and Possession of Class E. Her passenger was also arrested and charged with an outstanding default warrant.
Two B&E Suspects Arrested for Breaking into Car
Around 12:25pm, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to 537 Talbot St. in Dorchester for a larceny in progress. There, officers spoke to the victim who reported that, while looking out of his window, he had just observed two young males break into his car and steal an MP3.
A description of the suspects was broadcast and a short while later, officers located two individuals matching the suspects’ description. They were stopped and a short while positively identified by the victim. Officers were able to recover the stolen item nest to where the suspects had been stopped. Two juvenile suspects were arrested, a 13 year-old and a 14 year-old from Dorchester were arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle and Larceny from a Motor Vehicle.
