Suspect Robs Victim With KindnessYesterday evening around 5:42pm, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) were flagged down by a victim standing at the corner of Warren and Townsend Streets. The victim stated that an unknown black male just stole her cell phone. The suspect was described as approximately 5’-5” tall with thin build, with braided hair and wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt. The victim stated that the suspect took her phone and walked away stating, “Thank you, have a nice day.” Officers immediately canvassed the area and observed an individual fitting that description walking down Holborn Street towards Blue Hill Avenue. The victim positively identified the suspect.
A 16-year-old juvenile male from Dorchester was arrested and charged with Unarmed Robbery. Offices were able recover the victim’s cell phone from the suspect’s pocket.
Suspect Arrested in Larceny Sting
Last night at 11:00pm, members from District B-2 (Roxbury) Anti-Crime Unit conducted a larceny sting operation in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and Clifford Street. As a result of numerous larcenies from motor vehicles in the area, officers parked an unmarked department vehicle with a 12-speed bicycle placed in the rear of the vehicle.
At about 11:35pm, officers observed the suspect approach the vehicle and remove the bicycle from the rear of the vehicle. Ailvera Hicks, 36, of Roxbury was arrested and charged with Larceny Of A Bicycle.
Two Arrested For Armed Robbery
Early this morning at 1:38am, officers from District D-14 (Allston/Brighton) responded to a radio call for a sexual offense in the rear parking lot of the YMCA in Oak Square, involving two males one wearing camouflage. Officers observed two individuals fitting the description running down Nonantum Street. Upon seeing the officers, the suspects split up and ran in different directions.
A victim, who stated that those two men just robbed him, flagged the officers down. The victim further stated to officers that he was about to enter his house when the suspect called him over them. The victim further stated that the male with dark clothing held a gun to his head, while the other suspect held a knife to this stomach. The suspects demanded the victim’s wallet.
Officers observed the suspect with a white and black jacked jumping the fence, attempting to leave the park and enter the rear parking lot of the YMCA. The suspect was apprehended in the parking lot and was in possession of a knife. The second suspect was spotted running into the backyard of an address of Bigelow Street. The victim positively identified both suspects as the men who robbed him.
Two 19-year-olds from Brighton, Nicolas King and Daniel Mariano, were both arrested and charged with Armed Robbery.
