KIDNAPPING SUSPECT ARRESTED IN BRIGHTONAt about 2:51am, on Tuesday, September 18, 2007, officers from Area D-14 (Brighton) were on patrol in the area of Highgate and Cambridge Streets when they observed a female being dragged by a male. As officers approached, the female began yelling, “Help me .. he’s got a knife!” At this point, the suspect, upon seeing the police, fled. Officers gave chase and were able to apprehend the suspect after a brief foot chase. According to the victim, she was walking along Franklin Street when two individuals approached her from behind. The victim then told officers that one of the suspects put a knife to her throat and stated, “You’re coming with me.” Officers arrested Bruce Saidi, 25, of Chelsea, and charged him with Kidnapping, Armed Robbery and Trespassing.
LARCENY SUSPECT ARRESTED IN THE SOUTH END
At about 9:30am, on Wednesday, September 12, 2007, an individual walked into Area D-4 (South End) to make a report about a camera that had been stolen from him at 255 Massachusetts Avenue. According to the victim, he could identify the suspect. Six days later, at about 2:46pm, on Tuesday, September 19, 2007, officers received a call from the victim stating that he had just seen the suspect in the area of 181 Massachusetts Avenue. The victim further stated that the suspect was attempting to sell his camera. On arrival, officers arrested Lawrence Spriggs, 55, of Boston and charged him with Larceny.
DAMAGED SECURITY CAMERA HAS THE LAST LAUGH
At about 11:38am, on Thursday, September 13, 2007, officers from Area E-18 (Hyde Park) responded to a radio call for a breaking and entering at 1153 Hyde Park Avenue. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that when he arrived home he noticed that his basement door was open and a security camera aimed at that door had been vandalized. Victim further stated that a number of tools had been stolen from his basement. After retrieving and viewing the video footage from the damaged security camera, the victim was able to identify the suspect. Officers then arrested Miguel Rivera, 27, of Roslindale and charged him with Breaking & Entering a Residence.
