Anonymous Tip Leads to Recovered FirearmLast night around 8:30pm, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a tip about an AK-47 assault rifle in a duffle bag in the rear of 11 Leslie Street. On arrival, officers walked along the right side of 11 Leslie Street to the rear of the building and observed a large black duffle bag tucked under an old desk. Officers frisked the bag and felt what was believed to be a rifle. Officers recovered the semi-automatic assault rifle and a banana clip filled with ammunition.
Armed Robbery of Business
Last night at 9:43pm,officers from District E-13 (Jamaica Plain) responded to a radio call for an armed robbery at 78 Mozart Street. On arrival, officers spoke with owner who stated that a 15 or 16 year-old black male wearing a maroon hooded sweatshirt and light colored jeans walked into the store and attempted to buy a pack of cigarettes. The owner asked the suspect for identification at which time he responded, ”Why are you so mean?”
The suspect exited the store and immediately returned with a large knife demanding money from the storeowner. The suspect entered the rear of the counter and attempted to open the cash register. The suspect fled down Chestnut Avenue towards Centre Street before he was able to acquire any cash.
Operation Squeeze Nets Three Prostitutes
Last night between the hours of 10:06pm and 11:05pm, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) conducted “Operation Squeeze” in the area of Blue Hill Avenue. Officers conducted the operation due to numerous complaints from the community of prostitution in the area. An undercover officer was approached by the suspects in the area of Blue Hill Avenue and Quincy Street and made offers of sexual acts in exchange for money.
Sarah Marchando, 19, of Cambridge, Bonnie O’Leary, 26, of Roxbury and Michelle Ramrez, 37, of Roxbury were all arrested and charged with Sex for a Fee.
