WHAT: The Boston Police Department and the New York Police Department partnered up this year to organize the Tour de Force 9/11 Memorial Bike Ride. The benefit bicycle ride was created as a remembrance for the victims of the September 11th tragedy and to memorialize all police officers that have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. Each of the officers participating in the ride has raised funds to support the 9/11 Widows and Orphans Fund as well as the Massachusetts Law Enforcement Memorial Fund. The ride commenced at Yankee Stadium on Tuesday, September 11 and will conclude Friday, September 14 at Fenway Park, where Commissioner Davis and Red Sox officials will greet them.
