Person Stabbed in Jamaica PlainYesterday at 4:29pm, officers from District E-13 responded to a radio call for a walk-in stabbing victim at Mass General Hospital. On arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated he was waiting for a friend at the intersection of Williams Street and Washington Street. The victim stated he was approached by five unknown males that stated, “Run your pockets.” The victim stated he ignored the suspects’ request and got involved in an altercation. The victim stated he felt a sharp pain in his chest and at that time the suspects ran away. The victim stated he grabbed his chest and noticed blood. At that time, his friend arrived and took him to the hospital. The victim was treated for a non-life threatening injury.
Suspect Arrested In Stolen U-Haul
Last night at 6:25pm, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) Safe Street Team observed a U-Haul van fail to stop for the red light at the intersection of Dearborn and Dudley Streets. Officers stopped the vehicle at 294 Dudley Street and asked the operator for his license and registration. The suspect replied, “I don’t have a license.” Further investigation revealed the suspect’s license was revoked/suspended and the vehicle was reported stolen.
Anthony Bell, 45, of Boston was arrested and charged with Receiving Stolen Motor Vehicle and Operating after Suspension or Revocation.
Suspect Arrested After Armed Robbery
Last night at 10:05pm, while standing outside of the Area B-2 (Roxbury) police station officers were approached by a victim who stated that she had just been robbed. The victim described the suspect as a black male, with no front teeth, wearing a royal blue hat, long sleeve denim shirt over a white t-shirt. The victim stated that he emerged from the bushes behind her, grabbed her and displayed a knife. The suspect snatched two chains from her neck as well as her Ipod. The victim reported that the suspect fled up the hill towards the Timilty Middle School.
Officers immediately broadcast the description of the suspect. About five minutes later, officers observed an individual on a bicycle at 75 Malcolm X Boulevard fitting the description that was broadcast. Upon seeing the officers, the suspect abandoned his bicycle and fled into the bushes leading back to the area of the Timilty Middle School. Officers were able to apprehend the suspect in the bushes on Malcolm X Boulevard.
Alphonso Rambert, 38, of Roxbury was arrested and charged with Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, Assault and Battery, Armed Robbery and Armed assault with Intent to Commit a Crime. Officers were able to recover the victim’s property from the suspect as well as the knife.
