DAILY INCIDENTS FOR SATURDAY, AUGUST 25, 2007

Suspect Arrested After robberyLast night at 9:38pm, officers from District C-11 responded to a radio call for a robbery at 420 Washington Street. Officers were informed that the suspect a black male wearing plaid shorts, a black puffy vest and a black hat fled through the park towards Claybourne Street after stealing a cell phone from the victim. Officers were on Geneva Avenue at Vinson Street when they observed a black male running down the street removing a black puffy vest wearing plaid shorts. Upon seeing the officers the suspect attempted to flee into 503 Geneva Avenue. Officers stopped the male on the front porch as he attempted to enter the front door. Officers observed the suspect holding a cell phone in his left hand.
The victim stated she was walking on Washington Street when she observed a black male wearing a black puffy vest walking near her. The victim stated she stopped near the park because it was well-lit area. The victim stated that the male approached her from behind with his hands in his pocket as if he had a weapon and grabbed her phone off her belt and took of running.
The victim positively identified the suspect. Derrick Williams, 20, of Boston was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery. Officers did recover the victim cell phone and a knife from the suspect.
Person shot In The South End
Early this morning at 12:59am, officers from District D-4 responded to a radio call for a person shot at the intersection of Mystic Avenue and Washington Street. On arrival, officers located a male victim bleeding from an apparent gunshot wound to the face. The victim was transported to Boston Medical Center and treated for his injuries.
Suspect Arrested After Robbery and Assault
This morning at about 1:11am, officers from District D-4 responded to a radio all for a robbery in progress at Park Drive and Queensberry Street. The two suspects were described as a white female wearing white Capri pants, a black top and a black female wearing a white top robbed the victim and assaulted her before fleeing.
On arrival, officers observed the victim sitting on the ground holding her head with visible redness, swelling and bruising. The first victim stated she was outside the second victims building when two suspects approached and grabbed her purse. The first victim further stated that one of the suspects hit her in the head with a hard object possible a bottle while yelling, “Give me your bag”. The suspect then took from second victim her key chain and fled towards the Exxon Gas Station at Boylston Street and Park Drive.
A search of the area for the suspect was conducted with the victim. Upon approaching the Exxon Station the victim stated, “That’s her” and officers observed three white females and two while males around a parked vehicle. Officers approached the group and asked what they were doing in the lot and they stated that they had a flat tire and have been waiting for AAA. The victim positively identified the suspect. Shivonne Hyde, 17, of Worcester was arrested and charged with Armed Robbery and Assault and Battery by means of a Dangerous Weapon. The second suspect was not located.
The victim was treated at the scene by Boston EMS. Officers did recover the second victim’s key chain minus the keys and ID.
