Gun Arrest in DorchesterAt about 8:55pm, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force while on patrol in the Mountain Avenue area on numerous occasions have observed several individuals drinking in front of 11 Mountain Avenue. Once again officers observed several individuals on the porch of 11 Mountain Avenue. As officers approached the front of the address, they observed a male run inside the front hallway. The suspect attempted to gain entry into the front door of the residence but was unable to gain access. Officers observed the suspect attempt to hide against a wall in the front hallway. As officers approached the front hallway, he observed the suspect throw an object into the corner of the hallway behind the front door. Officers peered around the door and observed a firearm on the ground. Aaron Sullivan, 26, of South Boston was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Loaded Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
Suspect Arrested After Breaking and Entering
Last night at 9:58pm, officers from District D-4 responded to a radio call for a breaking and entering at 527 Tremont Street. On arrival, officers spoke with the caller who stated he heard a loud noise and observed the suspect exiting the office space of the building. The called stated he asked the suspect what he was doing and the suspect turned and fled. The employee kitchen appeared to have been ransacked and all the cabinet doors were open. An alarm had gone off from the door entering the building from the garage. Paul Ashman, 38, of Saugus was arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering. Officers were able to recover two radios and a CD recorder from the suspect.
Three Firearms Recovered During Traffic Stop
This morning at 12:17am, officers from District A-7 were on patrol observed a motor vehicle drive threw a stop sign at the corner of Maverick Street and Paris Street. Officers performed a traffic stop at 136 Meridian Street. While approaching the vehicle officers observed all three passenger’s moving around in the motor vehicle. Officers immediately smelled a strong odor of marijuana emanating from the motor vehicle. Officers asked the operator is there were any drugs or weapons in the car and he stated “No you can search it if you want”. Officers sat all three occupants on the curb to conduct a search of the vehicle. Officers checked the front passenger seat and observed a firearm. A second firearm was observed to sticking out from under the driver’s seat.
Three 17-year-old Chelsea residents were arrested. Alex Johnson, Francis Diaz and Jonathan Carvalho was charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Possession of Class B. Officers recovered three firearms and 32 small plastic bags of crack cocaine.
