Search Warrant Executed In BrightonYesterday at 7:00pm, members of the District 14 Drug Control Unit executed a search warrant at 197 Kelton Street. Nathaniel Benson, 46, of Brighton, Luciano Pio, 26, of Brighton and Luis Muniz, 22, of Chelsea were arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B. Arthur Hodges, 21, of Dorchester was arrested and charged with Possession with Intent to Distribute Class B and Possession with Intent to Distribute Class D. Officers did recover Marijuana, crack cocaine, Oxycontin and cash.
Firearm Recovered
Last night at approximately 9:42pm, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force were traveling on Thane Street towards Harvard Street. As the officers proceeded on Thane Street they observed a group of approximately ten individuals congregated in the area. At this point, officers observed a male riding a bicycle, break away from the group and proceed on his bike up the sidewalk of Thane Street towards Harvard Street. At 30 Thane Street, the suspect stopped his bike abruptly and pulled up to the front steps of this address. Officers exited their cruiser and spoke with the suspects who remained seated on his bike. The officers observed the suspect was extremely nervous; his hands were shaking as he spoke to the officers. The suspect failed to make eye contact with the officers and continuously looked left and right. As officers moved closer to suspect he turned the right side of his body away from the officer. Officers were concerned for their safety and believed that a pat-frisk for weapons. During this pat-frisk officers felt a hard object in suspects right front pants-pocket, which he immediately recognized as a gun. A 16-year-old juvenile male from Dorchester was arrested and charged with Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. Officers did recover a loaded firearm from the suspect.
Person Shot in Dorchester
Last night 9:56pm Officers assigned to the Special Operations Division/Mobile Operations Patrol did on-sight a shooting incident at the corner of Hancock St and Upham Avenue, Dorchester. As the officers were on random patrol in the Uphams Corner area and stopped at the red light on Hancock Street at Columbia Road, they heard two gunshots coming from behind their vehicle. Officers directed their attention to the rear and observed an unknown black male, approximately 5\’07\’\’ 150lbs, clad in a black and white ball cap, white t-shirt with black writing or design and dark blue or black shorts standing on Upham Ave at Hancock St fire two more shots from what appeared to be a black firearm in the direction of the Rent-A-Center parking lot on Hancock Street.
The officers immediately reversed direction and observed the suspect flee on foot, Upham Avenue towards Wilbur Street. As the officers made the left onto Wilbur Street the suspect was no longer in sight. The officers immediately searched checked the stair way which leads from the Strand Theater parking lot out onto Hancock St, where they observed the suspect still running and now turning left onto Columbia Rd in the direction of Bird St. Officers located a victim, in the rear of St. Kevin\’s School suffering from a gunshot wound to the buttocks. The victim was transported to Boston Medical Center and treated for a non-life threatening.
