YOUTH VIOLENCE STRIKE FORCE RECOVERS SEMI-AUTOMATIC FIREARM, ARRESTS FOURAt about 1:45am, on Friday, July 13, 2007, officers from the Youth Violence Strike Force received a radio call about a crowd gathering in front of the Boston Medical Center. The group gathering in front of the hospital told officers they were there to check on the condition of the two individuals shot in the area of Franklin Hill and Shandon Streets. While officers were monitoring the crowd, officers observed four individuals quickly enter a gray motor vehicle and flee the scene. Officers knew all four individuals. In fact, all four were known to be closely associated with the shooting victims.
While following the individuals, officers observed the suspect’s motor vehicle fail to stop for a red light. As a result, officers activated their emergency equipment and pulled the car over. While approaching the vehicle, officers observed the occupants moving in such a way as to suggest they were in the process of attempting to hide weapons and/or drugs. As a result, officers asked all four occupants to exit the motor vehicle. While searching the car, officers observed and recovered a loaded, silver semi-automatic firearm and a large amount of a Class B Drug (Crack Cocaine). Officers then arrested Melvin McGregor, 36, of Dorchester, Antonio Duncan, 31, of Mattapan, Antwan Green, 31, of Dorchester, and, Dominique Jean-Pierre, 28, of Hyde Park and charged all four with the Unlawful Possession of Firearm & Ammunition, Unlawful Carrying of a Firearm on a Public Way and Trafficking a Class B Drug (Crack Cocaine).
