Patriotic Discussion Leads to Assault with Corona BottleAt approximately 4:30pm yesterday, Wednesday, July 4, 2007, officers from District A-7 (East Boston) responded to a disturbance on Sumner Street.
On arrival at 108 Webster St. officers observed the victim covered in blood, bleeding from the bridge of his nose. Conversation with the victim revealed that he was drinking with a friend when an argument ensued about which countries they from. As a result of this argument, the victim was struck in the face with a Corona bottle causing a laceration to the bridge of his nose. Suspect, Walter E. Guillen, 23, of East Boston was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.
“Don’t Park in Front of My House”
Around 6:23pm, yesterday, July 4, 2007, officers from District 14 (Brighton/Allston) arrested suspect, Wei Chin, 25, of Brighton and charged him with Malicious Destruction of Property and Resisting Arrest.
Officers initially responded to 9 Cygnet St. in Allston for vandalism in progress. The caller reported that there was a male outside throwing bricks at her brother’s car. Officers spoke to the owner of the car who reported that a man came out of 9 Cygnet St. and started throwing bricks at his car while yelling “Don’t park in front of my house!” Officers responded to 9 Cygnet St. after investigation of the facts, located the suspect and placed him under arrest after a brief struggle.

Yesterday, July 4, 2007 around 6:54pm, officers from District 5 (West Roxbury/Roslindale) responded to a radio call for a man being assaulted with a machete.
On arrival officers disarmed the suspect, and spoke to all parties to determine what caused this assault. Officers spoke to witnesses who reported that the victim and suspect are and have been friends for a long time. On this date, the victim came over the suspect’s house and they both had been drinking since 11am. At some point during the evening, the suspect’s girlfriend walked into the kitchen and was followed by the victim. The suspect immediately became suspicious and thought something was going on between them. At this point the suspect started pushing the victim until they got outside where the suspect grabbed a machete and attacked the victim.
Both victim and suspect sustained minor injuries and were transported to the hospital for treatment. Suspect, Francisco Correa, 52, of Roslindale was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.
“Plain View” of Contraband Leads Suspect to Jail
Last night, July 4, 2007 around 8:36pm, officers from District 11 (Dorchester) were on patrol on Washington St. in the Four Corners section of the city when they observed two males riding their bicycles toward Columbia Road. Officers further made observation that one of the individuals riding on the bicycles had contraband/fireworks sticking out the rear pocket of his pants.
Both individuals were stopped and asked if they possessed any contraband to which both replied negatively. Officers then pointed out to one of the two stopped individuals that fireworks could clearly be seen protruding from his pocket. During stop of these two individuals officers recovered 16 individually wrapped plastic bags of marijuana and placed a 14-year-old juvenile from Dorchester under arrest for Possession of Class D with Intent to Distribute.
