DAILY INCIDENTS FOR TUESDAY, JULY 3, 2007

DRUG ARREST MADE IN THE SOUTH ENDAt about 6:30pm, on Monday, July 2, 2007, officers from Area D-4 Neighborhood Drug Unit observed drug activity in the area of Massachusetts Avenue and Washington Street. Officers observed two individuals walk up to a third individual. After a brief conversation, an exchange, which, according to officers, was consistent with a drug transaction, was made between the two parties. After the transaction was consummated, the two parties went their separate ways. Officers then approached the party that purchased the drugs. During questioning, the suspect admitted to officers that he had just purchased crack cocaine. Officers then approached the individual responsible for selling the drugs. Officers arrested Arthur Miles, 20, of Roxbury, and Sudara Herndon, 30, of Roxbury, and charged both with the Distribution of Class B Drugs (crack cocaine).
GUN RECOVERED IN ROXBURY
At about 8:09pm, on Monday, July 2, 2007, officers from Area B-2 (Roxbury) observed a brown motor vehicle backing the wrong way down a one way. Officers activated their emergency equipment (lights & sirens) in effort to stop the motor vehicle. After a brief pursuit, the motor vehicle finally came to a stop. Officers then approached the vehicle and arrested the operator, Jesse Lassiter, 33, of Mattapan, and charged him with Refusing to Stop for a Police Officer. As officers were searching the motor vehicle, a gun was found under the passenger side front seat. As a result, officers arrested the passenger, Junior Gray, 19, of Dorchester, and charged him with the Unlawful Possession of a Firearm & Ammunition.
WITH A FRIEND LIKE THIS .. WHO NEEDS ENEMIES
At about 4:30pm, on Monday, July 2, 2007, officers from Area A-7 (East Boston) responded to a radio call for a breaking and entering at 281 Princeton Street. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that a friend came by to visit him. Victim then told officers that he and his friend left his house together. But, according to witnesses, the victim’s friend returned to the victim’s residence and was observed breaking in thru a front window. Upon returning home, victim says the following items were missing: an ipod, a digital camera, a playstation and a number of games. Victim says he then confronted the suspect. When he did, the suspect smashed the victim’s digital camera right in front of him. Victim then recovered the damaged camera and returned home. Detectives from Area A-7 continue to investigate this incident.
