Suspect Placed Under Arrest for Macing VictimAt approximately 10:23pm last night, Friday, June 29, 2007, officers from District 1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for individuals fighting at 125 Tremont Street.
On arrival, officers observed the suspect spraying the victim with what appeared to be mace in the front entranceway of the 7-11 convenience store. Officers directed the suspect to stop at which point, he turned and fled from the scene. Officers observed the suspect throw an unknown item down the Park Street station stairs that they later recovered and determined to be pepper spray/mace. Officers were able to pursue and quickly locate and place the suspect under arrest close to the Park Street station after a brief struggle.
Suspect, Christopher F. Callinan, 26, of Malden was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon, Resisting Arrest, and Being a Disorderly Person.
Speeding Motorist Arrested with Firearm
At about 2:30am today, Saturday, June 30, 2007, officers from District 4 (South End) arrested suspect, Trevis J. Catron, 33, of Roslindale, and charged him with Unlawful Possession of Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, Larceny of a Motor Vehicle, Operating a Motor Vehicle after Revocation or Suspension of License, and One Way, Wrong Way Violation.
Officers were on scene at a motor vehicle accident when they observed a motor vehicle being operated at a high rate of speed going the wrong direction on Shawmut Avenue. Officers conducted a traffic stop and there observed the driver to be very nervous. Officers requested from the driver his license and registration and the reason for his erratic driving. The operator stated that he had just been in a fight with his friend and was simply driving around the block. The suspect next produced an ID as opposed to the license that was requested of him and stated to officers that his license was suspended. Officers made additional observation of the suspect and noted that he was bleeding from above his right eye and that there were several empty cans of beer in the car. Officers again requested of the operator the car’s the registration and further inquired when he could not tell them who owned the car. Officers then attempted to locate the car’s registration when they observed a firearm in the glove compartment. The suspect was then placed under arrest. Officers subsequently located the owner of the car who reported that he had been assaulted by the suspect and his car taken.
Yield to Pedestrians when You Are Not Licensed
This morning around 10:38am, officers from District 2 (Roxbury) arrested Matthew R. Allen, 21, of Roxbury and charged him Unlicensed Operation of a Motor Vehicle, and Outstanding warrant out of Roxbury District Court for Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon.
The suspect came to officers’ attention when he failed to yield to several pedestrians who were attempting to cross Warren Street. A traffic stop was conducted during which the suspect claimed not to have his license on his person. Check of the suspect’s information revealed him to be unlicensed and to have an outstanding warrant.
