Two Arrested on Gun ChargesLast night around 11:05pm, members of the Boston Regional Intelligence Unit responded to a radio call to assist units at 60 Highland Street for a person shot. While in route officers observed a vehicle backing up the wrong way down Roxbury Street. At this time with knowledge of a shooting close by, officers believed that this vehicle could have been involved in this shooting. One of the suspects informed the officers that the reason they were leaving at a high rate of speed backwards was that someone threw a rock at there vehicle.
Victor Hutchins, 21, of Dorchester and Michael Reed, 19, of Mattapan were arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Possession of a Firearm with Altered Serial Numbers and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. Officers did recover a firearm from the suspects.
Person Stabbed in Dorchester
This morning at 12:14am, officers from District C-11 responded to a radio call to investigate a person with a knife at 18 Howe Street. On arrival, officers spoke with the victim who stated three black males chased him up Howe Street and proceeded to repeatedly stab him. The victim was transported to Boston Medical Center and treated for his injuries. The victim is in stable condition.
Suspects Arrested After Breaking Into School
This morning at 2:07am, officers from District D-14 responded to a radio call for an alarm at the Taft Middle School at 20 Warren Avenue. On arrival, officers checked the doors at the front of the school on the Warren Street side, which was secured.
Officers then drove around the school to the Cambridge Street side and noticed two black males walking from the side entrance of the building. Officers conducted a threshold inquiry and asked them what they were doing at the school. One of the suspects stated, “We were inside playing basketball.” Offices observed both suspects were extremely sweaty but was not wearing typical athletic type clothing. Both suspects denied having any identification on them.
Officers searched the area where the suspects were seen walking from and found one black backpack, one large black duffle bag, one black computer equipment bag and one brown cardboard box. Officers observed several new laptop computers still inside their protective plastic wrap.
Trevor Rowe, 20 of Watertown and Kevon Grant, 20, of Roxbury were both arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering a Building; Intent to Commit a Felony and Possession of Burglarious Tools.
