ARMED ROBBERY SUSPECT ARRESTED IN DORCHESTERAbout 2:33am, on Friday, June 15, 2007, officers from Area C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call for robbery in progress at 1435 Dorchester Avenue. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated he had just been robbed by 2 males. According to the victim, the suspects pressed something against his back and demanded money. The victim then provided officers with descriptions of both suspects. According to the victim, the 1st suspect was a 5’4” black male wearing a red and white shirt and blue jeans; the 2nd suspect was a slightly taller white male wearing a black doo-rag, white t-shirt and black jacket. After the description of the suspects was broadcast over the Channel 6 of the police radio, officers were able to locate an individual fitting the description of the 1st suspect. After that individual was positively identified by the victim, officers arrested Vernon Newberry-Bullock, 18, of Dorchester, and charged him with Armed Robbery.
3 ARRESTED FOR UNARMED ROBBERY IN JAMAICA PLAIN
At about 1:15am, on Friday, June 15, 2007, officers from Area E-13 (Jamaica Plain) responded to a radio call for a man being robbed on Sheridan Street. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that 3 black males approached him and then pushed him to the ground. Once on the ground, the victim states that the suspects began kicking him and, then, they stole his wallet and cell phone. En route to the call, responding officers observed 3 black males walking away from the scene. Officers detained the suspects while the victim was brought to their location. Once on scene, the victim was able to positively identify the suspects. After searching the suspects, officers recovered the victim’s cell phone and wallet. Officers then arrested Walter Eric Clark, 23, of Jamaica Plain, Steven Rhodes, 21, of Jamaica Plain and a 16 year-old male from Jamaica Plain, and charged all three with Assault & Battery By Means of Dangerous Weapon (foot) and Unarmed Robbery.
