CARJACKING SUSPECT LOCATED & ARRESTED IN WEST ROXBURYAt about 12:42pm, on Friday, May 25, 2007, officers from District E-18 (Hyde Park) responded to a radio call for a report of a carjacking at the Forest Hills Cemetery. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated she had just finished lighting a candle at her parent’s tombstone when the incident happened. According to the victim, she had just entered her car when the suspect approached her holding a box-cutter and stated, “Get out of the car .. get me your keys.” Suspect then drove off in the victim’s black motor vehicle. Victim described the suspect as 5’7” black male wearing a white t-shirt and jeans. About 30 minutes later, officers observed the stolen motor vehicle traveling in the area of Centre Street in West Roxbury. After a short pursuit, officers arrested Jamal Daniels, 26, of Roslindale, and charged him with Carjacking.
“IT’s MY UNCLE CHRIS\’ CAR … I DON\’T KNOW HIS LAST NAME.”
At about 11:14am, on Friday, May 25, 2007, officers from District B-2 (Roxbury) observed a stolen motor vehicle traveling on Stanwood Street. Officers stopped the car and proceeded to approach the vehicle. While speaking to the operator, the operator told officers that the car belonged to his ‘Uncle Chris’. Suspect further stated, ”It’s my Uncle Chris’ car … I don’t know his last name.” A check of the motor vehicle’s registration showed that the owner’s name did not to match the one given by the suspect. Officers then arrested Darell Couch, 18, of Dorchester, and charged him with Receiving a Stolen Motor Vehicle and Operating Without Being Licensed.
