Ice Cream Shop Robbed at GunpointYesterday evening at 6:42pm, officers from District A-1 (Downtown) responded to a radio call for armed robbery at 20 Park Plaza. On arrival, officers spoke with the clerk who stated an unknown white male, black spiked hair, sunglasses, black leather jacket and blue jeans walked into the Ben and Jerry’s. The suspect opened his coat and displayed a firearm and demanded money. The suspect took undetermined amount of cash and fled the scene towards Stuart Street.
Person Shot on Westville Street
Last night at 7:30pm, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to a radio call for shots fired at 35 Westville Street. On arrival, officers did not locate a victim or a crime scene. Further investigation revealed the victim self-applied to Boston Medical Center. The victim sustained a gunshot wound to the shoulder. The victim stated he was riding his bike when he heard five gunshots and was shot. The victim’s injuries are non-life threatening.
One Less Gun On The Street
At approximately 9:12pm, members of the Youth Violence Strike Force were on patrol in the area of Washington Street and observed several males loitering in the front area 465 Washington Street. These individuals did not appear to patrons of the restaurant at that time. Officers observed the individuals to be showing each other some type of object.
Upon seeing the officers enter the restaurant one individual walked away from the group and headed towards the bathroom. Officers observed the suspect walk over to the bathroom peer inside and then walked away acting in a nervous manner. Officer then observed the suspect sitting, leaning to the side in a manner consistence with someone attempting to conceal something. Antoine Johnson, 18, of Dorchester was arrested and charged with Dangerous Weapon Unlawfully Carried, Unlawful Possession of Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. Officers did recover a firearm from the suspect.
Suspects Leaves Cash and Gun Behind After Botched Robbery
Last night at 9:35pm, officers from District B-3 (Mattapan) responded to a radio call for robbery in progress at 69 River Street. On arrival, officers spoke with the victims who stated two black males wearing grey hoodies came into the store and tried to purchase two sodas. When the victim opened the register one of the suspects pulled out a gun and went behind the counter taking money from the register and placing it in a bag. One of the victims started wrestling with the first suspect over the gun. The suspect dropped the gun and ran out of the store. The second suspect dropped the bag of money when the second victim chased him from the store. Officers did recover the cash and a handgun.
