At 10:54am, officers from District C-11 (Dorchester) responded to 507 Talbot Avenue. On arrival, officers observed a black female, who was exhibiting violent behavior by wielding a knife and attempting to attack police officers. Officers attempted to elude her and made numerous attempts to have her release the knife.A final attempt led to an officer discharging his department-issued firearm. She was rushed to an area hospital and is being treated for a gunshot wound to the leg. The officer was also transported to an area hospital for evaluation.
Boston Police Firearm Discharge Investigation Team in conjunction with District C-11 detectives are investigating this incident.
