ASSAULT & BATTERY BY BOTTLEAt about 11:07pm, on Sunday, March 18, 2007, officers from District D-14 (Brighton) responded to a radio call for a fight at 51 Park Vale Avenue in Brighton. On arrival, officers spoke to a witness who stated that his roommates had just gotten into a fight. Witnesses further stated that a handful of people were in the apartment talking and listening to music when the suspect walked out of his room. The suspect then struck one of the individuals in the head with a bottle. According to the suspect, he was trying to sleep, but couldn’t because of all the noise. The suspect then admitted to officers that he had struck one of the individuals in the head with the bottle. Officers then arrested Alejandro Ayala, 31, of Allston and charged him with Assault & Battery By Means of A Dangerous Weapon (Bottle).
ONE LESS GUN ON THE STREETS
At about 4:55pm, on Monday, March 19, 2007, officers from Special Operations responded to a call for shots fired at Dudley Street and North Avenue. While on scene, witnesses told officers that the 3 individuals responsible for the shooting were walking down Dudley Street. Officers then observed 3 black males walking away from the scene. Officers then approached the suspects and ordered them to stop. After hearing the order to stop, one of three suspects attempted to flee, but then stopped after running only a few yards. While searching the aforementioned suspect for weapons, officers discovered a firearm in the suspect’s waistband. In fact, officers recovered a fully loaded Colt 45 handgun. Officers then arrested a 16 year-old black male from Dorchester and charged him with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm and Unlawful Possession of Ammunition.
ARREST MADE FOR ASSAULT & BATTERY
At about 6:53pm, on Monday, March 19, 2007, officers from District D-4 (South End) responded to a radio call for an assault & battery in progress at 370 Boylston Street. On arrival, officers spoke to the victim who stated that she was walking along Boylston Street, trying to walk past the suspect, when the suspect suddenly kicked her in the stomach. Victim further states that the suspect was talking to himself. A detail officer, working nearby, was able to detain the suspect. Officers then arrested Lloyd Tiab, 28, of Boston and charged him with Assault & Battery By Means of a Dangerous Weapon (Foot)
