Officers One Step Ahead of Robbery SuspectThis morning, officers from District 4 arrested a 16 year old juvenile suspect from Boston and charged him with Armed Robbery.
At approximately 12:41am officers were dispatched to 30 Rutland St. for a robbery in progress. At the time of the broadcast, officers in the area were already speaking to the suspect. While officers were engaged in conversation with the suspect, a description of the suspect involved in the robbery was broadcast and the suspect hearing the broadcast attempted to flee. Officers, having made note of the match between the broadcast description and the individual that they were talking to, pursued, caught and detained the suspect for further investigation. The suspect was shortly thereafter positively identified by the victim. The victim reported that he was making a food delivery when he was approached by the suspect. The suspect, acting as if armed, then demanded of the victim his money.
B&E Suspect Caught in the Act
About 1:21am today, officers from District 7 were on patrol in the area of Liverpool St. and Central Square when they observed an individual bent over in the open car door of a parked car rummaging through its contents. Officers’ attention was drawn to this individual due to the increased occurrence of breaks into cars in this area. Officers stopped this individual and conducted an investigation into his activities. Based on that investigation, officers arrested suspect, Eduardo Ramirez, 26, of Chelsea and charged him with Breaking and Entering into a Motor Vehicle.
Suspect Arrested for Possession of a Firearm After Traffic Offense
At approximately 2:12am this morning, officers from District 2 conducted a traffic stop of car at Blue Hill Ave. and Nazing St. after observing the car commit several traffic violations. The operator, once stopped, handed the officer his license and refused to answer any further questions by officers stating that he preferred to have his lawyer present. Officers, for their safety, asked the operator if he had any weapons and he replied affirmatively that he had a firearm. Officers subsequently secured the firearm and determined that the operator also had a baton and a container of mace/pepper spray on his person. The suspect provided officers with a license to carry a firearm in Utah but did not have a license to carry in Massachusetts. Suspect, Umesh S. Heendeniya, 36, of Salt Lake City, UT was arrested and charged with Possession of a Loaded Firearm, Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition, and Carrying a Dangerous Weapon.
