Suspects Bright Future Requiring Sunglasses Comes to a Screeching StopAbout 12:30pm yesterday a Boston Police officer performing a paid detail in the Copley Mall arrested suspect, Frank Smith, 37, of Randolph and charged him with Larceny Over $200.
The officer, while performing the detail, observed the suspect being chased by an employee of the Sole Mio Sunglass Store who shouted to the officer that the suspect had just stolen from the store. The officer pursued the suspect and apprehended him just before he boarded a train at the nearby Back Bay MBTA station. The suspect was arrested and found to be in possession of three pair of glasses valued in excess of $800.
Suspect Arrested After Accident for Throwing “Quarters” at Victim
About 5:23pm yesterday, officers from District 4 responded to a radio call for individuals fighting after a motor vehicle accident. On arrival officers spoke to the victim and witnesses who reported that the suspect struck the front of the victim’s car then refused to exchange information with the victim. The victim attempted to speak wit the suspect but was rebuffed by the belligerent suspect who started throwing quarters at the victim striking him. Officers then attempted to speak to the suspect who was also belligerent and uncooperative with officers and started yelling and screaming causing passersby to stop and gather. The suspect, Jane C. Evans, 55, of West Roxbury was arrested and charged with Assault and Battery by Means of a Dangerous Weapon and Disorderly Conduct. At the booking desk, the suspect had a strong odor of alcohol about her.
Money Dispute Lands Suspect In Jail for Assault with a Gun
Last night around 9:32pm, officers from District 4 responded to a radio call for a person with a gun at Rutland St. and Columbus St. While en route, officers were updated with the suspect description and advised that the suspect was walking near West Newton St. and Tremont St. Officers were able to successfully stop the suspect at the above location and spoke to the victim. The victim reported that the suspect owed her some money, but refused to give it back to her after withdrawing money from an ATM. Per victim, an argument ensued during which the suspect displayed a firearm in his waistband and stated “You want some of this!” The suspect, Christopher E. Houston, 39, of Boston was arrested and charged Assault by Means of a Dangerous Weapon. Numerous officers responded to the area in an attempt to find the firearm but were unsuccessful in their attempt to locate the firearm.
Prostitution Suspect Bargains Her Way Into Jail
At approximately 11:35pm last night, suspect, Madelyn Cosme, 28, of Boston was arrested and charged with Prostitution/Sex for a Fee.
In the area of Washington St. and Kneeland St., the suspect approached and flagged down a plain-clothes officer operating an unmarked car and offered sexual services in exchange for a fee of $30.00 initially. Before the officer could respond, the suspect stated “OK, $20!” The suspect was then placed under arrest and charged with the above noted offense.
B&E Suspect Arrested After Entering Victim’s Apartment Through Window
This morning around 1:30am, officers from District 4 responded to 109 St. Stephens St. in the South End for a breaking and entering in progress. On arrival officers saw and stopped an individual matching the suspect description in the lobby of the building. Officers then went and spoke to the victims who reported that they were asleep and heard a loud banging in the front hallway of their apartment. One of the victims stated that she opened her bedroom door and observed the suspect standing in the apartment. The suspect threatened to hurt the victim and she screamed prompting her roommate to come out of her bedroom. The suspect then attempted to enter the other victim’s bedroom at which point she fled back in her bedroom, and the suspect fled the apartment. Officers subsequently determined that the suspect had entered the victim’s apartment through the window. The suspect, Jordan Colburn, 21, of Roxbury was arrested and charged with Breaking and Entering. The suspect, upon being transported to the station, appeared to be intoxicated, was belligerent and extremely uncooperative during the booking process.
