Suspect Arrested For Shoplifting After Returning to StoreYesterday around 12:40pm, officers in District 14 responded to a radio call for a shoplifter at 223 Cambridge Street (Allston Food and Spirits). On arrival officers observed the victim standing over the suspect. The victim stated at 11:15am, the suspect walked into the store acting suspiciously. The suspect then left the store after paying for a soda, but not for the bottle of Bacardi he hid. The victim ran after the suspect, but the suspect was able to escape. At approximately 12:30pm, the suspect came back into the store; the victim called the police and prevented the suspect from leaving. Hector Guevara, 20, of Allston was arrested and charged with Shoplifting and Possession of Alcohol Beverage by Person Under 21.
Fight ends In Gun Arrest
Yesterday around 1:56pm, officers in District 2 responded to a radio call for a fight involving ten teens at 301 Warren Street. On arrival officers observed several teens in front of the McDonalds, who began to enter the establishment upon observing officers. Officers exited their cruisers and began a threshold inquiry of the remaining teen when one of the teen wearing a multi colored hat, black hooded sweatshirt carrying a backpack fled on foot down Dale Street. Officers in pursuit chased the suspect down Dale Street towards Mills St. At that time the suspect turned onto Mills St. while holding his waistband. Officers observed the suspect reach with his left hand then extending it making a tossing motion. Officers heard a hard thumping noise, shortly after officers were able to apprehend the suspect on Mills Street. A 16 year-old juvenile male, from Roxbury was arrested and charged with Unlawful Possession of a Firearm, Unlawful Possession of Ammunition. Officers did recover a firearm.
Victim Chases Down Suspect After Attempted Robbery
Last night at 6:06pm, officers in District 11 responded to a radio for a man being held to the ground that had tried to stab someone. The victim stated she was walking near the intersection of Pleasant Street and Trescott Street, when the suspect came up from behind, grabbed her in a bear hug and demanded money or I’ll stab you. The victim stated at that time she felt an object being placed to her body. The victim stated that she kicked the suspect, and the suspect fled on foot towards Taft Street. A Good Samaritan observed this incident and started to run after the suspect along with the victim. The Good Samaritan and the victim caught up with suspect in front of 25 Pleasant Street and held him down until the police arrived. Daniel O’Connor, 47, of Hyde Park was arrested and charged with Intent to Rob while Armed. The victim declined medical attention and reported nothing was taking from her.
Suspect Arrested in Shooting on Tremont Street
Last night around 6:35pm, officers in District 4 responded to a radio call for shots fired at 666 Tremont Street. On arrival officers located ballistic evidence but no victim. While officers were at the scene the victim returned and was transported to Boston Medical Center for a gunshot wound to the abdomen. The victim stated two suspects approached him one of the suspects produced a gun and shot him. The victim was treated for a non-life threatening injury. As a result of an ongoing investigation officers arrested, a 16 year-old juvenile male, of Dorchester and charged him with Assault with Intent to Murder. The suspect will be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court on Monday.
Person Shot at Strathcona Road and Brinsley Street
Last night around 7:45pm, officers in District 11 responded to a radio call for a person shot at Columbia Road and Washington Street. On arrival officers were informed that the victim was transported to Boston Medical Center. Officers responded to the hospital and located a black male suffering from a gunshot wound to the shoulder. The victim stated he was walking on Strathcona Street when he heard three shot and saw a group of males running away. The victim then ran towards Washington Street where he realized he had been shot. The victim is being treated for a non-life threatening injury.
