Juveniles Arrested in South Boston Breaking into CarsYesterday morning a resident of South Boston called police to report two suspects breaking into vehicles on Telegraph Street in South Boston. The witness followed the suspects and provided a detailed description to them. The officers located the two suspects on Gates Street and found evidence from the vehicles in their possession. The witness identified the suspects they were both placed under arrest. Police charged two 14-year-old males from Roxbury and Dorchester with Delinquency to wit: Breaking and Entering a Motor Vehicle. They will be arraigned in Boston Juvenile Court.
Charlestown Resident Arrested Attempting to Rob Bank in Downtown
A 39-year-old male who resides in Charlestown entered the Citizen’s Bank at 73 Tremont Street yesterday morning around 11:19am. The suspect approached the teller and demanded money stating this is a bank robbery. Another employee approached the suspect and ordered the suspect to leave the bank. The suspect stated he was only joking and requested to make another transaction. The suspect left the area and was later stopped in another bank on Washington Street. David Russell, 39, of Charlestown was positively identified and placed under arrest for Attempted Unarmed Robbery. He will be arraigned in the Boston Municipal Court.
Back Bay Victim Fights Off Robbers
An officer from District 4 responded to Marlborough and Gloucester Streets last night at about 7:50pm on a report of a robbery. The officer spoke with the victim who reported while walking on Marlborough Street she observed three males walking in the opposite direction. When they passed her, one suspect attempted to grab her pocketbook, which was secured around her arm. The victim resisted and the two other suspects grabbed her from behind. The victim while struggling with the suspect swung at him. The three fled toward Massachusetts Ave. The victim lost her cell phone during the incident. The three suspects remain at large.
Drug Unit Officers Arrest Beauty Salon Robbers
Last night at about 6:55pm, officers assigned to the District 4 Drug Control Unit observed two individuals walk to the front of 1039 Tremont Street, place masks over their faces, and enter the Elegance Beauty Salon. About a minute later, the two suspects fled out of that address and ran onto Tremont toward Cunard Street. Officers stopped the two individuals on Cunard Street where one was armed with a knife and the other discarded a black pocketbook. Officers responded to the Salon where the victim’s reported the two entered the establishment and grabbed one victim and threw her across the room. One suspect went to the front counter where the cash register is located and took the victim’s pocketbook. Both suspects were placed under arrest and transported to District 4. Raymond Sims, 42, of Mattapan and Devon Brown, 37, Roxbury will be charged with Armed Robbery while Masked, Assault and Battery, Larceny from the Person, and Possession of a Dangerous Weapon. Both will be arraigned at the Boston Municipal Court.
Traffic Stop in Mattapan Leads to Warrant Arrests
After observing a motor vehicle traveling at speed greater then reasonable, officers from District 3 stopped the operator of a 2007 Chevy at River St. and Marcy Rd. in Mattapan. The driver of the vehicle stated to officers that he did not have a driver’s license in his possession. Further investigation by the officers revealed the suspect did not have a license to operate and had numerous warrants for his arrest. Police arrested Ernest Wright, 20, of Mattapan and charged him with Operating without a License and the following warrants: Indecent A&B on a Person under 14, ABDW, Failure to Register as a Sex Offender, and Receiving Stolen Motor Vehicle. He will be arraigned in the Dorchester District Court.
